Mark Dean was an integral part of NorthCoast Asset Management for two decades, serving ultimately as a Principal in the Finance Department. As the son of Paul Dean, a co-founder of NorthCoast, Mark carried forward his family’s legacy with dedication, professionalism, and a deep commitment to the firm’s success. His participation in the financial aspects of the firm played a crucial role in ensuring the firm’s stability and growth, particularly in budgeting and accounting which he led with precision and care.

Before joining NorthCoast, Mark built an impressive career in sports management. He began working with Today’s Athlete for Tomorrow, a firm founded by Richard Dent that represented NFL players, and played a key role in organizing charity events for legendary athletes, including Muhammad Ali and Evander Holyfield. He later transitioned to Advantage International (later renamed Octagon in 1999), where he produced premier golf and tennis tournaments such as the Cadillac NFL Golf Classic. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, enjoying season tickets with his family and friends.

Mark was a proud graduate of Emory University, earning his degree in Economics and Psychology in 1993. He was a constant presence at NorthCoast team events, always ready to engage and support his team members. His warmth and dedication to the firm will leave a lasting impression. His presence will be missed.
